New Year News from our exhibitors

Cycling safely into the New Year

Millions of pounds of investment in cycling in Brighton and Hove is having a positive result and more people are cycling.  However, in recognition of the fact that cyclists are vulnerable road users, the City Council is working with the Police and Fire and Rescue Service to reinforce safety for cyclists.

The 'Be Bright Be Seen' campaign, took place when the clocks turned back and reminded cyclists of the need to have bike lights and wear reflective/bright clothing.

The aim is to reduce road casualties and encourage lawful, responsible, considerate riding. The City Council does receive complaints from all types of road users about the behaviour of a minority of cyclists - who sadly taint the reputation of all cyclists.  All road users have a responsibility to be considerate to others using the road and we need to get away from the culture of blaming everybody else.

Business start-ups

Brighton and Hove is infamous for its many new, young start-up companies that it produces each year being one of the largest regions in the UK for businesses start-ups.  A great city, with many well educated graduates in the work force, naturally means we are fortunate to harness quality, new businesses. The Brighton and Hove Business Show positively encourages start-up businesses to raise their visibility by taking Show stands and eventing with us. This new website now has a web page called 'New Business' which is exactly for that, highlighting our previous new start-up exhibitors and also the established companies that can offer new entrepreneurs some quality information too.
